Overview

Certified copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates are available at the Town Clerk's Office for $10.00 per certified copy.

Birth & Death Certificates

Effective July 1, 2019, changes were made to the rules for obtaining birth and death certificates. More details can be found online at the Vermont Department of Health website.

To obtain a Birth or Death certificate, you will need to show valid identification and submit an Application for Vermont Birth or Death Certificate. You can complete the application at the Town Clerk's office or prepare it ahead of time.

Marriage Licenses

Effective July 1, 2022, if you are getting married in Vermont, you may obtain a marriage license from any Vermont town/city clerk; there’s no longer a requirement for Vermont residents to go to the clerk’s office in the town where they reside.

You will need to complete a Marriage License Application and bring it to the Town Clerk's Office. The marriage license fee is $80.00, which includes one certified copy of your marriage license. Additional copies are $10.00 each.
