Overview

The Town of Georgia Selectboard is a five-member elected governing body that is responsible for the legislative function of the municipality.  There are three members elected for a three-year term and two members elected for a one-year term on a staggered basis. Responsibilities of the board include writing general policy and ordinances, town planning, reviewing the budget, setting the tax rate, working closely with the Town Administrator, developing an overall vision for the community, and controlling the pace of its implementation.  Selectboard members cannot control or interfere with the duties of other elected officials having specific duties set forth in the State of Vermont statute.

 

Meetings

The Selectboard meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 6:00 PM at the Town of Georgia Municipal Offices.  Selectboard meetings are being held both in person at the Town of Georgia Offices and virtually using Zoom.  Zoom is free to the public and does not require registration or login.
